| Description |
The "Hinoki Cypress" grows into an elegant large tree with lustrous dark green scale-like foliage with rounded, slightly dropping tips on horizontal branchlets. Glaucous margins between foliage scales form a white, distinct x-shape pattern on the underside of the needle. The bark of this large majectic tree is gray with reddish brown furrows and inner bark, and peels in long, narrow strips when mature. This native of Japan is a fast grower, eventually reaching heights of 75 to 120 feet. Zone 5 |
