| Botanical Name |
Chamaecyparis obtusa ’Gracilis Aurea Nana’ |
| Common Name |
Golden Dwarf Hinoki Cypress |
| Description |
Often confused with C.n. ’Aurea’, ’Aurea Nana’ is a slow, very compact form of Hinoki. Twelve-year-old stock is on average only eight feet high. The variation is a result of differing propagation origins, vigor, soil conditions, and other cultural factors. ’Aurea Nana is a stunning tree, with its bright gold foliage livening the twisted, fan-shaped branchlets, and contrasting beautifully with the dark green interiors. ’Aurea Nana’ has an elegant sculpted shape that should be grown in full sun for best color.
