Cedrus deodara ’Aurea’ |
| Common Name |
Golden Deodar Cedar |
| Description |
’Aurea’ is a golden evergreen that has been a consistently popular variety. It reaches heights of 30 feet, though at a slow pace. ’Aurea’s’ branching is somewhat open, horizontal, and irregular, making it an excellent pyramidal specimen. Overall, its habit is somewhat similar to the species, though tends to develop its "flat-topped look" at a much younger age. ’Aurea’ sprouts new foliage that is a golden-yellow, which adds beautiful highlights to the tops and ends of the branches. The color is prominent throughout the season. With this tree, it is important to be cautious of winter winds and exposed sites. Zone 7 - 9 |
