| Description |
’Inaba shidare’ is one of the darkest of the Laceleaf Maples, attaining an almost black-red color. Few Laceleaf Maples retain their deep color throughout the summer as well as the ’Inaba shidare’. The new growth stems also set this variety apart from others; when soft and new they are a dark red like the leaves, then as they harden in late summer they evolve into an appealing light, blue-gray. It is also fast growing and does not weep as stiffly as many of the other Laceleafs. This is truly a distinctive Maple. Zone 5 - 7 |
