This maple will dazzle you in spring with the, soft drooping pale yellow- green leaves edged in bright crimson. The show continues as the foliage develops wide, deep-red margins and light-cream centers. ‘Tsuma gaki’ is a very elegant small tree with a low-wide form (6' tall by 5' wide in 10 years), slow growing and should be reserved for a special spot in the garden. 'Tsuma gaki’ means red nail. Zone 5-8.
