Considered the finest of the Japanese maples! This dwarf tree has an outstanding structure; new shoots are very short and stubby, forming a compact and little plant. Although it reaches just 5' tall and 4' wide in 10 years, the unique appearance is worth the wait. The leaves emerge yellow-green overlapping one another like shingles on a roof. Medium green leaves in summer turn yellow-orange in fall. Excellent as a focal point in a small garden or in a container for continuous seasonal changes. Zone 5-8
