In the fall and winter months, the "Golden Variegated Canadian Hemlock" has very nice dark green foliage. In the spring, new growth emerges that is a dazzling bright yellow, which holds its color through late summer before gradually fading to the dark green. The contrast between this new growth and the older foliage is strikingly attractive, granting this specimen much praise and attention. We stake our plants making 'New Gold' a beautiful upright tree. This is also a vigorous grower and takes well to shearing. Though its mature height is yet unknown, a ten-year-old plant will be eight feet tall and three feet wide. Zone 4 - 8
