Contrary to the common globose growth habit of both wild and cultivated Pinus mugo, 'Prostrata' grows completely flat. This procumbent habit, paired with the round, brown cones it produces, makes this a very distinctive selection of the Mugo Pine. 'Prostrata' is also somewhat slow growing, as a ten-year-old plant will be dense, but only two feet tall by six feet in diameter. Zone 2 - 7
