Pinus bungeana
Lace Bark Pine
The Chinese Lacebark Pine is an all-around attractive plant with long, sparsely arranged emerald-green needles. It is an oval crowned, multi-stemmed tree, and its foliage typically grows three to a cluster. However, its most noted feature is its flaking bark. When young, the Chinese Lacebark Pine's bark begins to show patches of varying shades of green, which, with maturity can become almost white, thus, creating an array of gray-green , red--brown and white. Dr. Bunge first discovered this plant in a Chinese temple garden in 1831 and was subsequently found in the mountains of central China. Will eventually reach 35-50' tall and 20-35' wide. Zone 4-7
