We are proud to offer you our very own cultivar of Picea pungens var. glauca. The "Bizon Blue Colorado Spruce" was discovered at our nursery and we promote its cultivation for its many wonderful characteristics. This specimen is as blue as 'Hoopsii', but has proven to be even denser. It is also important to note that the 'Bizon Blue's' brilliant blue coloration is not limited to its new growth, but rather is retained to its core making it even more striking. This selection has a very formal, conical shape and needs no staking to keep this attractive form. The growth rate is slightly slower than the species, and its ultimate mature height is similar to that of 'Hoopsii'. Like all of our spruce selections, 'Bizon Blue' is transplanted and root-pruned to ensure optimal durability and survivability. Zone 2-7
