This is a broadly conical form that may be the largest, most wide spreading of all the male cultivars. It was introduced by the Saratoga Horticultural Foundation of California in the 1950's, and has been used widely for street and garden planting. 'Autumn Gold' has a wonderfully symmetrical oval and upright shape, with ascending branches. As its name suggests, its fall foliage is a brilliant golden-yellow and a bright green in the summer.
