The leaves unfold a beautiful dark purple. This color holds well throughout the summer, but slight fading does occur. Under ideal conditions, it might reach 60' or more, but it does so quite slowly. Mature specimens make a dramatic statement in the landscape if given plenty of room. Zone 4 - 7
