'Yoshino' has an upright pyramidal form with bright evergreen foliage all year. It is one of the faster growing Cryptomerias, and receives attention for its hardiness, as well. It can bronze somewhat in winter depending on the temperature and exposure. The evergreen foliage is retained without the interior browning, which is typical of a number of the Cryptomeria cultivars. It forms an excellent hedge or windbreak, as it reaches heights of 15 feet in only eight years. 'Yoshino' was a Pennsylvania Horticulture Society Gold Medal winner in 1993. Zone 6 - 8
