This obtusa is one of the nicest grown. Its color is rich and dark, like the very best of Hinokis. Because this variety is semi-dwarf, it is an excellent choice where other Hinokis would be too large. 'Compacta' also has the advantage of looking like a mature specimen with a dwarf-like form, without taking an extended amount of time to achieve it. Zone 4 - 8
