This plant is often under utilized in landscaping because it is a green variety rather than the popular red Laceleaf Maple. 'Viridis' is a very beautiful, weeping Maple that deserves more attention, especially in the fall, when its vibrant foliage glows golden-yellow and red. 'Viridis' has the advantage of being more shade tolerant than its red counterparts, as well. This variety also has exceptional branching architecture with attractive bark for winter interest. Zone 5-7.
