'Orangeola' has a dense mounding habit, with reddish-orange new growth that turns dark green in mid-summer. The second flush is more orange and contrasts wonderfully with the older dark green foliage. This selection's fall color is said to be one of the best. 'Orangeola' may have the best mounding habit of all the Japanese Laceleaf Maples. This variety has a mature height of six to ten feet when grown in its preferred conditions of full sun and humus-rich, well-drained soil. Zone 5 - 7.
