This dissectum is one of the finest in the Japanese Maple family. 'Crimson Queen' is a slower growing, and more tightly weeping Laceleaf than others. At maturity, this variety may only grow to six feet tall with a ten-foot spread. This is a definite plus for those with smaller gardens. It has been in cultivation since the 1960's and has earned its popularity for its retention of its unsurpassed color. 'Crimson Queen' holds its burgundy coloring throughout the year until it evolves into a brilliant crimson in the fall. Zone 5 - 7
